How Many Rings Should You Buy

When you first decide to give the love of your life an engagement ring, you will probably only consider buying a single ring; an engagement ring. However, they are some other options you might want to seriously consider.

By the time the two of you are actually married, three rings will have been purchased. The bride will have an engagement ring and a wedding band, and the groom will also have a wedding band. Traditionally the groom buys the brides rings, and the bride buys the wedding band for the groom.

However, you may want to consider whether to purchase an engagement ring, an engagement set (sometimes referred to as a wedding set) or a wedding trio. The engagement is a single ring signifying the engagement and promise of a future marriage.

The engagement or wedding set consists of the engagement ring as well as the bride's wedding band. These can be two separate unrelated rings, or they can be a set designed and specifically made to be worn together. Frequently, rings purchased as a set will be designed to interlock and stay together so they don't separate, and go their separate ways on the finger as they are worn. This interlocking feature is something most women prefer.

Another advantage to purchasing a wedding set is there is no problem that by the time you actually get married you may have a difficult time finding a wedding band for her that looks just right with her engagement ring. If you buy them at the same time, you know she will have a perfectly matched set.

When buying an engagement ring or a wedding set, the groom's wedding band can be a completely separate style or it can be something designed to look very similar to the bride's rings even though it isn't an exact match.

Guide on How to Bid at Bidz - a No Risk Way

If you are a couple who would like everything to match perfectly you will want to consider buying what is known as a wedding trio. With a wedding trio, you get the bride's engagement ring plus matching wedding bands for the bride and groom. One of the advantages of doing it this way is that all three rings are perfectly matched. However, there are two possible drawbacks to be considered. The first is that the two rings for the bride may or may not be interlocking, which could be a downside if she has her heart set on this feature. The other possible downside is that purchasing a wedding trio mean you will be paying for 3 rings all at one time, when only one of them will be used for a while.

This extra expense may be justified when you consider that once the trio has been purchased, there will be no question about being able to find matching wedding bands at a later date. You will have one shopping trip, one purchase, and you're all done. Finding any of these choices should be no problem, as most jewelers will offer all three. The final decision is up to you.
